Engagement!

Happy Engagement Nikki and Aaron!
Our little kindergarten sweethearts (that's where they met), are now engaged to be married next year! They were thrown a party this weekend and I was able to make a cake for them. It had cute little baby blocks on it (significant of the kindergarten sweethearts), and was a butter cream cake inside - except for the blocks, they were rice krispies!
I hope they had a wonderful time celebrating!
Love you guys!

Dad's Birthday!

It was my dad's birthday this past week and I took the opportunity to make a cheeseburger cake! (for one of his favourite artists' songs "Cheeseburger in Paradise" by Jimmy Buffet). It was very suiting to him. My son enjoyed eating the "french fries" once he heard us call them cookies! And the hamburger was just white and chocolate cake, decorated with a mixture of buttercream and fondant dressings. We also had to throw in some "sand" since the song is cheese burger in "paradise"! We really enjoyed making this cake, and also enjoyed eating one of our creations for once!

Christmas time 's a comin'!

We were super busy this weekend and one of our other late nights included these cute little reindeer! Oh they were a lot of fun to make, and so yummy to eat! They were made with chocolate cake truffles. I just wanted to put out a friendly reminder that Christmas time IS coming, only 12 weeks away (I can count it, that is when baby #2 is due!). I will be making orders up until the 12th of December, so if you want Christmas sweets, book now!
These cute little friends can be made in any variety of flavours that you like. I dreamt of candy cane flavoured cake last night, so that might be a festive option! Enjoy the pics! (oh and I can't take complete credit for these, Bakerella has the best ideas!) - Thanks Cutie Pie Bakery for filling me in on this!

Transformers, more than meets the eye

Birthday time again, and even though a transformers theme would seem fitting for my husband, it wasn't for his birthday (although it made for a good excuse to watch the movie...again)!
We made a transformers cake for a 4 year old's birthday party. Equipped with an Autobot and Decepticon symbol, and even some "pez robots" to finish off the cake.
It was fun to do, and I think my husband was impressed as well!
